Welcome to the Rotary Club of Newburyport, Massachusetts. The Rotary Club of Newburyport was chartered in 1923. The club has enjoyed 88 years of promoting the objective of Rotary, “Service above Self”, in five primary areas, referred to as the Avenues of Service; Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service and New Generations Service.
Like many clubs we are in transition. We strive to keep our rich heritage and traditions as we look forward to what the future holds. We look to this future to continue Rotary's mission of service to others, promoting high ethical standards and advancing world peace, understanding and goodwill.
The theme for this year’s Rotary International year is “Reach Within to Embrace Humanity”. RI President Benerjee says: "In order to achieve anything in this world, a person has to use all the resources he can draw on. And the only place to start is with ourselves and within ourselves."
The funds raised by our club help support many social service organizations in our area, including Turning Point; The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Merrimack Valley, Jeanne Geiger Women's Crisis Center and the Salvation Army.
Please feel free to join us and learn more about Rotary at our weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 12:15 PM at Glenn's Galley Restaurant, 44 Merrimac Street, Newburyport.
Yours in Rotary,
Susan Christ
