The opening song on March 8 was "God Bless America". The invocation was given by George Cashman followed by lunch of baked macaroni or sliced steak. After dinner, with Ted Shepard at the piano, John Budzyna led us in singing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game".

Guests and Visiting Rotarians

The guest book was read by Mark Audette. We had only one guest...Ginny Robbins of Dietz & Lynch.

Student Guests

Jim Hughes introduced our student guests from Newburyport High School... Juniors Kristen Arciero and Ali Johnson.

Kristen plays soccer and is involved with the "Best Buddies" program. She is also active in church groups. Her favorite class is world literature because she likes to write and express herself. She would like to be a teacher and plans to attend college.

Ali enjoys swimming, and working as a lifeguard, teacher, and coach. She is a member of Interact, Best Buddies, and Student Council. Her favorite subjects are biology because she finds it interesting, and math because she enjoys problem solving. Her future plans are to be a pediatric doctor.

Birthdays and Anniversaries

Happy Anniversary to Josiah Welch

Happy Dollars

Jay Howlett is happy about the song we sang today and how well the Red Sox have done. He apologized for not being at the road race and was willing to whatever fine Pres. Geri assessed...$10 George Cashman was happy that Mike Lagasse is bringing in a new member. John Salter is pleased that all our fund raising efforts have brought in money for the club and thanked the club for a job well done.

Badge Fines

Pres. Geri said that Liz Cullen was being very creative with her badges lately. Fines were collected for those who did not have a badge on. Even Mike Strem was wearing a badge today.

Picture Fines

Peter Johnston of Provident Bank paid a fine for having his picture in a magazine.

Program

There was no program today, so Sue Christ stood up with her chef's hat and thanked everyone for their part in making the anniversary party a great success. She especially thanked Kate Kelly and Kelly's Taylor Rental for all the items they supplied for the party. We had 96 people attend and made $6,000!
