The September 14th meeting opened with the singing of "America the Beautiful" played by Ted Shepard. George Cashman gave the invocation. Lunch was grilled tuna, grilled mahi, or cheese manicotti. After lunch John Budzyna led us in singing "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover." Good job!

Guests and Visiting Rotarians

The guest book was read by John Allison. Our guests today were Mark MacBurnie from Amesbury and Rick Atwood from Haverhill.

Happy Dollars

Mary Murray paid $ 2 today. One was for the smooth opening of school and the other was because her son is coming for a visit from California and then proceeding on to a trip around the world for one year. Ted Shepard was happy that he taped his music . Next time he is unable to make a meeting, we can play his tape. Great idea! Arlene Santa Fe said the YWCA's fund raiser is coming up on October 2nd.

Announcements

  • The Amesbury Rotary Club niow meets at Scandia instead of the Playhouse on Thursday at 12:15.

Birthdays and Anniversaries

Jim Connolly said he didn't have any birthdays or anniversaries to report. John Allison said his birthday is this week; Jay Howlett said it was his 20th anniversary today; and Jean Francois Barre said it was his 8th anniversary.

Program

We had no program today. Since Geri is on vacation, John Connolly presided over the  meeting and asked George to speak about the Charter Night he and Liz  attended Saturday night.

It was for the new Rotary Club of Breakwater Daybreak with Shirley Mooers as President. The Club has 15 members. He said Rick King was also in attendance. Rick King, as you remember, was President of Rotary International a few years ago.
